Frequently Asked Questions
It's not plastic vs. paper, it's single-use vs. circular. Paper doesn't perform as well in cold, wet conditions, and when it does end up in landfill, it produces methane (25 times more potent than CO2). Switching to paper also doesn't address the plastic already in use. Our recycled sleeves offer the same protection as conventional ones, while keeping plastic in a continuous loop instead of landfill.
Our sleeves are remanufactured from 100% recycled plastic. They perform to the same standards as conventional sleeves, same protection but most importantly no virgin plastic.
We sell in pallet quantities, with smaller growers able to share orders. Some sizes are also available by the box. If you're unsure what suits your volume, get in touch and we'll find a setup that works for you.
Our florist collection programme lets you send back the used plastic sleeves that arrive with your flowers. We'll send you a prepaid post bag, you fill it with used sleeves and post it back, that's it. We handle everything from there.
We send you a prepaid post bag. Fill it with used sleeves and drop it at the post office when convenient, no special sorting, no courier bookings, no extra cost. Most florists fill one per fortnight, depending on shop size. Once it arrives with us, we recycle and remanufacture it into 100% recycled sleeves ready for growers to use again.
Whenever it's full. Unlike food waste or compostables, plastic is non-urgent, fill the bag at your own pace and post it back when it suits you.
The remaining cost is subsidised through our sponsorship programme, where businesses committed to sustainability fund the collection service. If your business is interested in becoming a sponsor, get in touch.
Reach out via email or through our website and we'll talk through your requirements, sizes, quantities, printing and timing. We sell at pallet scale and if your volume doesn't fill a whole pallet, we can connect you with other growers to share one. Once you're set up, you can also join our collection programme to send used sleeves back at end of life, closing the loop entirely.
Yes. Used sleeves and rip-off blocks are collected, processed, and remanufactured into new ones, again and again. Get in touch to get started.
Our sleeves are grey and translucent rather than clear, a natural result of using recycled material rather than virgin plastic. For many growers, the colour has become a visible signal to customers that their plastic is being handled responsibly.
Yes, we offer custom printing on our recycled sleeves. Get in touch to discuss your design and requirements.
Yes, we offer perforation on our recycled sleeves, either punched or hot needles. Get in touch to discuss your requirements.
A closed-loop system keeps material in use indefinitely instead of discarding it after one use. In our case: a sleeve is used by a grower, collected from a florist, recycled, and remanufactured into a new sleeve, then the cycle starts again. It's the opposite of the take-make-waste model that most industries still run on.
Every sleeve collected is processed and remanufactured into new product by our recycling partner, not sent to landfill. We're also members of the Circular Plastics Alliance, a global network of businesses committed to closing the loop on plastic. We're actively working on traceability so we can show you exactly where your plastic goes.
Our recycled sleeves are available to growers in both New Zealand and Australia. We're currently focused on building our plastic collection network in New Zealand first, with Australia to follow. If you're an Australian florist, get in touch to be added to our waitlist.
Used sleeves are sorted and baled here in New Zealand, then sent overseas to be recycled and remanufactured into new flower sleeves. Those sleeves come back to us and go out to growers, completing the loop.
